Drawing from their Indian heritage and traditions, Alisha Patel crafted Präna Boost. They wanted to partner with an agency that could help them elevate their website through content and design, and also help with creative consulting.
We rooted our strategy in the product itself. The result was a website design that was energizing and encouraged visitors to read and browse. A blend of attractive product photos, on-brand, SEO-optimized copy, and a design rooted in user experience and aesthetics made the website easy to navigate and shop on.
PRANA LAYOUT GOALS AND DELIVERABLES
The Präna Co. had a basic website. However, it lacked a clear brand identity and did not bring the product’s uniqueness to the surface.
Our goal was to create a cohesive brand image and highlight Präna Boost’s origin story through content and design. We built a website that was simple to navigate and showcased the product’s benefits front and center. At the same time, we used copy and branding to demonstrate the product’s properties and heritage. By doing this, we ensured that the website was as easy to navigate as Präna Boost was to use.
CUSTOM LAYOUT ELEMENTS
HEADER CURVE
We incorporated subtle design elements, such as the header curve accenting the logo, that reflected the brand’s Indian roots. Borrowed from subcontinental architecture, this header curve is designed to evoke a sense of flow and fluidity to match the drink mix’s properties of calming the mind and strengthening the immune system.
Traditional Colors
If we were to create a website design for a product rooted in Indian culture, we needed to introduce vibrant colors. We brought in bright pinks, oranges, and yellows to add vibrancy and reflect the rejuvenating properties of Präna Boost. To add visual balance, we drew on other colors such as olive green, deep maroon, and tan — all shades inspired by Indian spices such as cardamom and cinnamon that are also well-known for their flavors and health benefits.
Typography
The fonts used for the site were strategically chosen in order to accent each other and match the current logo and branding. The primary font is Maragsa. With its tapered tips and hastily-flowing strokes, we selected this font to represent the richness of Indian culture. The sans serif font, Avenir was used to accent the primary serif font and make the text subtle yet readable for users.
MOBILE-FRIENDLY DESIGN
Mobile-friendly design is essential for all businesses, but more so for eCommerce businesses. With most people using their cell phones to browse and shop for products, we prioritized a mobile-friendly design for Präna Boost, which made navigating it via a mobile device intuitive.
We stacked important elements on top of each other and made the buttons big enough to click on.
IMAGE CONSULTATION
One of the things we take pride in at Boxwood is that we don’t limit ourselves to website design, SEO, or content writing. We provide consultation to our clients in all areas where we can provide value.
For The Präna Co., we helped with image consultation. From concepts to art direction thought-starters, we shared photography ideas and helped with editing the images where needed. This not only helped our client move quickly through the photography process, but also helped us deliver a website that was visually cohesive.
